Job Scope:
Fix and repair aggregate parts and equipment by determining required welding techniques for each project. Weld different types of metal based on blueprints and specifications laid out by engineers. May assist in other kinds of maintenance.
Essential Duties:
- Fix and repair aggregate parts and equipment
- Read blueprints and engineer specifications
- Bore welding and custom fabricating
- Weld frames and fill holes in frames with welding material
- Pour Babbitt bearing material
- Clean and paint parts as needed
- Use of grinders, tape measures, and combination squares
- Operate all tools and equipment with precision dexterity
- Determine required equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques
- Perform maintenance on welding equipment as needed
Secondary Duties:
- Keep work area clean
- Maintain a safe overall work environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to read blueprints
- Basic mathematic skills including fractions and decimals
- Knowledge of welding techniques and procedures
- Ability to take precise and accurate measurements
Education Requirements:
High school diploma, GED, or equal years of experience
Experience Requirements:
One to three years of welding experience

Reaching - 50% of shift
Bending - 35% of shift
Pushing - 20% of shift
Pulling - 45% of shift
Climbing - 30% of shift
Sitting - 35% of shift
Overhead work - 0% of shift
Standing - 25% of shift
Walking - 25% of shift
Lifting up to 50 pounds - 10% of shift

Work Environment:
Work takes place in a machine shop. Work is in a loud environment. Individual must be prepared to work in hot or cold temperatures. Individual may be exposed to fumes or chemicals such as weld smoke or grinding dust.
