New Medical Clinic Opens in Marion
On Tuesday, May 4, community members, local officials, and patients of Dr. Kelli Banner gathered at Marion Medical Clinic for a ribbon cutting. Located at 6 E. Medical Ct., Suite 1, in Marion, this new clinic has been a labor of love for Dr. Banner.
Kelli Banner has been a nurse practitioner since 2015 and worked with Family Care for 3 years, most recently in Old Fort. Dr. Banner made the decision to move to Marion’s medical park after finding office space in Marion, rather than Old Fort as she had originally planned.
Executive Director of the McDowell Chamber of Commerce, Kim Effler, spoke about her husband’s 2018 kidney cancer diagnosis. “Dr. Banner asked all the right questions and it’s because of her that Jerome [Effler] is here with us today,” Kim Effler said.
Also present at the ribbon cutting were Kelli’s husband and daughter, Nason and Jordan, along with other close friends and family. City Council members Ann Harkey and Juanita Doggett attended, as well as Marion City Manager Bob Boyette. Chamber Ambassadors Margie Faraday and Brandi Behlke also attended. Everyone in attendance wished Dr. Banner well. Tuesday, May 11 is Dr. Banner’s official opening day.
