Comic Book Store Celebrates Ribbon Cutting

On Tuesday, October 5, Sherry and Tim Deel welcomed the Chamber in for a ribbon cutting at All Things Geeky by 2 Nerds, a place they have lovingly dubbed “not your average comic book store.” This store has earned itself a cult following that stretches across the United States, all because Sherry and Tim took their love of Comic Con and brought it to Marion.
All Things Geeky by 2 Nerds has been open for a little more than a year. Sherry and Tim are not from Marion originally, but they feel very at home in this community. Even in the midst of a pandemic, All Things Geeky has had a successful first year with many exciting things to come.

Sherry and Tim did not originally plan to open a comic book store in Marion, but those plans changed when the COVID-19 pandemic started. Sherry has past experience putting together successful Comic Con events, especially the inaugural Marion Comic Con. After having success at the Municipal Event Center in the Larry D. Miller Complex, Sherry and Tim decided to pursue opening a store. When the opportunity arose to open their store at the complex, they wasted no time taking on the project. Sherry and Tim Deel participated in the GEM program through McDowell Technical Community College and the Marion Business Association.
You can find their store in the basement of the Larry D. Miller Complex. If you love comic books, action figures, and all things “geeky,” this is the place for you. Sherry and Tim want their store to be a welcoming place for people of all ages. Their hours of operation are: Wednesday-Thursday, 12pm – 7pm; Friday-Saturday, 11am – 7pm; and Sundays, 12pm – 6pm.
