Mission Hospital McDowell holds Ribbon Cutting for expansion

Marion, NC (Nov. 9, 2023) – Mission Hospital McDowell held a ribbon cutting today to celebrate the expansion of the hospital in Marion. This $20 million, state-of-the-art expansion offers the most up-to-date clinical services and integrates the latest state of the art equipment needed to treat our patients. Within the new 28,000 square foot Mission Hospital McDowell expansion are housed:

•    12 new beds with the shell space to add 8 additional beds in the near future

•    Bariatric Patient Room

•    2 Negative Pressure Rooms

•    Construction of tower will also support the addition of another floor based on future health care and service needs in the community

“Our newly expanded facility allows us to continue providing compassionate patient care that has long been associated with Mission Hospital McDowell, and will offer the very latest in advanced medical care in a beautiful healing environment, for years to come,” said Marsha Myers, CEO at Mission Hospital McDowell.

The event hosted about 100 people including Mission Hospital McDowell colleagues/Leadership, Physicians, Board of Trustees Members, Community Partners, and Elected Officials, including City Manager, Bob Boyette, Council Members from the City of Marion and City of Marion Mayor Steve Little.
