Mobile Unit Driver CDL Driver or Trainee

Multi-disciplinary job that encompasses driving Mobile Unit to/from assigned locations 2-5 days a week and working on facilities projects during other times in workday.     Starting/Returning in Asheville, NC. 

Position could also involve driving other company vehicles, requiring only operator license.

Operates a semi-truck according to applicable state and federal transportation laws.

  • Transports mobile unit safely and in a timely manner over required route, obeying all traffic laws and observing all safety regulations.
  • Facilitates routine service on trucks, which may include checking oil, water, gasoline, and air; reports maintenance malfunctions to supervisor.

Maintain and repair WNCCHS’ facilities for an optimal environment of care. This includes ensuring building systems operate safely and efficiently and that environmental risks are minimized.

Certification(s)/Licensure:

· Must possess a valid North Carolina Driver’s license.

· No more than 1 moving violation or 1 “at fault” accident within the past 3 years.

· CDL class B License with air brakes or

· Obtain CDL B License within 3 months of hire.

o TRAINEE: Complete required CDL driving training and successfully achieve CDL License B within 3 months of hire. (Employer paid training)

Experience: Once year experience as a driver for a transportation, social service agency or church. Must pass a mandatory criminal background test and driving record.

Additional skills required: Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office programs to produce correspondence, documents, presentations, records, and spreadsheets. Demonstrated Customer Services Skills.

Additional skills preferred: Knowledge of medical office operations. Familiarity with role of FQHCs in the community. Bi-lingual Spanish preferred but not required.

Education: High School diploma or equivalent
