Position Objectives

FLEXIBLE HOURS.

Monday – Friday with Flexible Hours.


This job will be primarily responsible for custodial duties at McDowell County Facilities, which may include the Courthouse and Administrative Offices. Employees are expected to clean and keep in an orderly condition all premises/buildings by providing custodial and janitorial services.


Duties will consist of but are not limited to:

  • Keeping buildings clean and orderly by performing a combination of custodial activities.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of floors by sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.
  • Wash interior surfaces of buildings such as walls, ceilings, windows, etc. using appropriate supplies and equipment.
  • Empty waste receptacles and dispose of refuse.
  • Dust and polish furniture.
  • Perform outside duties such as washing windows, sweeping walks, shoveling snow, and picking up trash.
  • All other duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Requirements
Effective Communication Skills
High School Diploma or GED
Valid NC Drivers License
 
 
Desirable Training and Experience
Experience in basic custodial/janitorial duties preferred.
