Each year the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) celebrates, connects, and empowers service members during National Veterans Small Business Week (NVSBW), November 4-8, 2019. This marks the sixth annual NVSBW. McDowell Chamber is proud to support and honor our local veteran entrepreneurs and want to encourage our community to do likewise.

From a recent research project from SCORE, the data shows that independent retailers are indeed a huge economic engine in local communities. SCORE compiled the latest 2019 retail statistics into an easy-to-understand infographic.

In 2010 American Express launched Small Business Saturday in an effort to encourage consumers to buy locally and help sustain their economy. The campaign has been a huge success since its inception and we in McDowell are on board to help our residents find local vendors to celebrate Small Business Saturday not only on one day, but all year long!
